Che cos’è un language café?

È un incontro virtuale informale della durata di un’ora in cui si parla esclusivamente una lingua straniera e rivolto a chiunque abbia voglia di mettere in gioco le proprie competenze linguistiche o semplicemente ascoltare una conversazione in lingua ricca di spunti.

Durante questa ora ricreativa viene infatti discusso un tema, che può essere attualità, tendenze, sport… La discussione viene “guidata” da un moderator madrelingua e il pubblico è libero di intervenire per dire la propria: insomma, una sfiziosa chiacchierata con gli amici al bar… in lingua!

A chi è rivolto?

Il language café è adatto a persone di tutte le età; l’unica regola importante è che gli interventi siano fatti esclusivamente in lingua, ergo è preferibile una buona conoscenza di base che permetta di esprimere la propria opinione.

"Welcome to our inaugural English Language Café! 

We will kick off conversation with the topic of tackling the long rocky roads of Australia; the sights and splendours, as well as the trials and troubles you could face when taking on the ‘Big Lap’- driving around Australia.  Through this speculative journey we will be exploring some of the best aspects of having an off-the-beaten-track trip – and maybe even provide some inspiration for your next holiday. 

I will guide you throughout our conversation, in discussion about travelling styles and preferences, as well as the many hidden treasures that Australia has to offer and the ways to get there.  We welcome participants of all English language competencies and encourage participation in conversation to steer it wherever it may go.

At the conclusion of the conversation, we will provide you with notes containing a collection of useful phrases and grammatical advice noted during the conversation.
